According to a website in Korea, Quan Panlie, the backbone of Korea Falun Dafa Association was badly hurt in a car accident and died after rescue with all strength but in vain in December 2007. The founder of Falun Gong Li Hongzhi ever "sent forth righteous thoughts" personally for him, but still didn't save his life, which caused strong oppugnations among Falun Gong members in Korea.

Quan Panlie was a senior figure of Falun Gong, running several enterprises with strong economic strength. Having provided lots of money for Falun Gong in Korea, Quan was a diligent practitioner, and also spared no effort to "promote the Fa".

In view of the "special contribution" and significant position of Quan Panlie, Li Hongzhi "sent forth righteous thoughts" personally for him and also called on fellow practitioners of Falun Gong to "send forth righteous thoughts" collectively with the power of "Dafa" to save Quan's life when Quan was rescued in the hospital, but there was a massive haemorrhage in Quan's brain and "sending forth righteous thoughts" didn't work. After this, many Falun Gong practitioners in Korea are disappointed and perplexed, showing their doubt and incomprehension on Li Hongzhi's ability.
